About the inspiration behind the ring — the Calendula flower:

Calendula officinalis, commonly known as calendula or marigold, has long been regarded as a healing and protective plant. It was associated with the power of the sun and light, believed to carry warmth that heals both body and mind. Traditionally, calendula was used in ancient healing practices to treat wounds, inflammations, and skin ailments.

Today, calendula is widely used in natural medicine and cosmetics. It is known for its gentle yet effective properties for skin issues, commonly found in salves, creams, and oils. Calendula tea is also enjoyed for its soothing and cleansing effects on the body.

In folk beliefs, calendula served as a tool for divination and love magic. Its petals were consulted for answers about the future, and placing the flower under one's pillow was thought to reveal the face of a future spouse in dreams. Dried calendula flowers were hung above doorways to ward off the evil eye and protect the home.

Calendula was especially connected to rituals celebrating summer and light, such as the summer solstice. It was believed to carry continuity and vitality even as the light began to fade.

For many, calendula remains a sacred plant—bright, gentle, and wise. It carries the memory of ancient healers and nature spirits who whisper through its petals.
